Gear Head, in collaboration with PMU-B, launches a Digital Lighting Control course in 2024

The Digital Lighting Control Course, a high-performance research personnel development project in the private sector to equip them with modern digital lighting technology skills for the film industry, by Gear Head Company Limited and the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation), commenced on June 10, 2024.

In the operation of this course, Gear Head Company Limited has utilized its own state-of-the-art digital lighting equipment for instruction, while also receiving additional equipment support from business partners such as Total Solution, Astera, Amaran, Advanced Photo Systems Limited, L&E Beyond, Aputure, LightSource, Live Nation Tero, Blackout, Tool Unit, and Semi Colon Studio. This ensures that participants have the opportunity to experience and learn how to use a diverse and comprehensive range of equipment. Additionally, we are honored to have industry expert instructors share their knowledge and experience with the course participants.

This course consists of three training levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced, to enable learners to develop skills progressively and comprehensively in all aspects of digital lighting.

Basic Level

In the DLC basic level, participants will learn about digital lighting technology, starting with fundamental lighting principles and progressing to the easy use of digital lighting control applications.

Intermediate Level

In the DLC intermediate course, participants will learn about digital lighting technology, from the basics of signal transmission and digital lighting control application usage to various techniques for different on-set situations.

Advance Level

In the advanced course, participants will learn how to practice using the 'Blackout' application and lighting in different sets, such as a simulated set at 'Ruean Kaew,' a traditional Thai house, and a simulated set on an electric train at The Studio Park (Thailand), according to specified scenarios. They will also learn how to use the Blackout application from Mr. Jeffrey Brink, the designer and creator of the Blackout application.
